Plaid Link is a quick and secure way to integrate with the Plaid API. Link is a drop-in module that handles credential validation, multi-factor authentication, and error handling for each institution that we support—all while keeping credentials from ever hitting your server. Head over to the Link docs to get started right away or read on to learn more.

What’s this all about?

Link offers a quicker, simpler way to integrate with the Plaid API, allowing you to focus on building your product, not integrating with ours. The client-side integration is as simple as:

<form id='plaid-link-form'></form>
<script
    src="https://cdn.plaid.com/link/stable/v2/link-initialize.js"
    data-client-name="My App"
    data-form-id="plaid-link-form"
    data-key="[PUBLIC KEY]"
    data-product="auth"
    data-env="sandbox">
</script>

In addition to a quick integration, Link offers:

  • Security: All sensitive data—credentials, security codes, etc.—are sent to Plaid servers via a secure HTTPS connection. Check out our security page for more info.
  • Multi-factor authentication support: Link supports all Plaid MFA flows, including device listings, codes, questions, and selections. All with zero server-side code.
  • New banks and products, automatically: Link is automatically updated with new products and banks as we roll out support for them. No code changes required on your end.
  • Customization: Link provides a complete integration with only a few lines of client-side Javascript, giving you complete control over the Link flow within your app.

Demo and Getting Started

Check out the Link demo—you can use the Plaid sandbox credentials or test with your own bank account credentials. For sandbox testing, try:

username: user_good
password: pass_good

Once you’ve checked out the demo, head over to the quickstart guide to get started with Link today!

We’d love to hear what you think of Link or help you through any roadblocks you might encounter. Just open an issue or get in touch at support@plaid.com.

We’re excited to see what you build!
